  1. Use the Default Keyboard

This is the first and the most common method that can be applied on all versions of Windows. All you need to do is press the PrtScn (Print Screen) key or CTRL + PrtScn. Windows will take the screenshot of the screen and will save the screenshot to the Clipboard. Please note that this picture will not be stored as the file on hard drive. You must open an image editing program and paste the picture from clipboard now you will be able to save it as file also, you can do some editing on it.

  1. Keyboard Shortcut Windows+PrtScn

In case, if you need to take the screenshot of the full screen and want to save it as a file on the hard drive you can do it by pressing the Windows+PrtScn on your keyboard. Windows will take the screenshot and save it Picture’s library in the Screenshots folder. The file will be saved with the name Screenshot(number).png. This number will be changing and it depends upon the number of shots you have taken. In addition, if you are using Windows 10, you can also get your screenshots with Photos app, simply go to Folders > Pictures > Screenshots.

Snipping tool is a very good app for capturing the screenshots from the desktop moreover, it also allows you to do little editing on the image. For Windows 10 users, you can easily capture the screen shot by pressing Windows+Shift+S. when you press these keys, a cursor will be shown on the screen which will allow you to drag the screen and takes the screen shot of your desired region. In addition, your screenshot will be saved to the clipboard, you can open paint or other tool to paste and edit your screenshot.
